About HandicapDocs

  • What is HandicapDocs?

HandicapDocs is an online telehealth service, owned and operated by doctors, that helps individuals with disabilities in Florida get certified for a disabled parking permit. They streamline the process by offering online consultations and preparing the necessary documentation.

  • What makes HandicapDocs different?

They pride themselves on being doctor-owned and operated, offering a fast and secure online application process, and providing direct access to doctors for questions, unlike services that might use external medical professionals.

Eligibility

  • Who is eligible for a disabled parking permit in Florida?

Eligibility may be granted to those with a medical condition that significantly impairs their ability to walk, such as orthopedic, neurological, respiratory, or heart conditions, making it difficult to walk 200 feet without stopping to rest.

  • What documentation do I need?

The Application for Disabled Person Parking Permit (Form HSMV 83039) must be completed and signed. A certifying medical authority must sign it within the past 12 months. Proof of a valid Florida driver’s license or identification card is also required. In certain situations, like severe disability, or if you are visiting Florida, a physician can certify an inability to obtain an ID card.  So, you can get a Florida disabled parking pass even if you don’t have a Florida ID.

Application process

The online process begins by providing basic information and uploading medical documents through their secure HIPAA-compliant system. A doctor reviews the information and conducts a brief telehealth consultation. Qualified patients will then receive a signed HSMV 83039 application form which you will bring to the DMV, where you will be given a disabled parking placard for you car.

  • Is a Florida disabled parking permit valid in other states?
